Record breaking weeds!

Derek writes: What a strange year we are experiencing weather wise in 2021.
From quite a wet winter, followed by a cold and dry April, Cold & wet May and warm and wet June,
but the coldest mid summer on record, I give you the tallest annual weed, in Lindfield at any rate.
It is a common sow thistle, Sonchus oleraceus measuring in at 2.5 m.
Usually it grows to between 30 – 60 cm but with ideal growing conditions and support through a shrub rose hedge it has reached these heady heights.
Watch out Jack and the beanstalk !
